AdPrint HISTORY

It all started 13 years ago, as a project of Millenium Communications [now called Millenium People] – a new agency owned by two young students, animated with ambition and passion for print.

In 2004, AdPrint decided to go a step forward becoming European. A bold but wise decision. Among other 400 European advertising festivals, AdPrint was different: it celebrated print and it was dedicated to creative teams. And it still does.

The name of the festival says it all. AdPrint is the only European festival dedicated solely to print advertising and graphic design celebration. It is the most demanding and the most difficult exercise because it needs a great idea. The Idea. It has to convince at first sight.

AdPrint is the only European Festival awarding the creative teams. AdPrint stands for great print ideas resulting from the chemistry of a very special relationship. The whole philosophy of the festival underlines the connection that bonds together people who seem to work with one brain.

In 2011, the 12th edition of the festival was a huge success and, by far, the best up to now, pursuing the natural evolution the festival had so far.

AdPrint Festival 2012 encompasses two different competitions: Advertising Angels and Design Angels – each meant to showcase what print has to offer: uniqueness, boldness, style and exquisite craft.

AdPrint Festival is all about print – it is a voyage through great print advertising and design.  The structure of the competition was redesigned in order to offer a broader image of the printed and out of home media: one can now enter Print ads – as in magazine and newspaper press, Out of Home ads (billboard, poster, ambient) and Graphic Design works (ranging from logos, entire branding schemes, packaging, collaterals, POP and in store, publishing design and movie posters.

The 2012 competition will also reward the best works in these media and the best crafts in both Advertising Print and Graphic Design.

All AdPrint categories have been restructured and thought through to encompass most of the advertising and design disciplines and to foresee the future in these fields.

Entries in both Advertising and Design Angels leverage one powerful medium: print.
